Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises MSMEs contribute significantly to the world’s economic growth and development. MSME’s employ more than 460 million people alone in India. However, in the 21st century, organizations, battered by an increasing rate of disruptions, finding traditional and incremental approach of managing businesses irrelevant. MSMEs are more susceptible to such forces as they are also plagued by other ‘traditional’ challenges, like lack of innovation, poor infrastructure, inadequacy of funds, technology knowledge gaps, lack of proper skill and training, inability to attract talented workforce. Therefore, it is the need of the hour to study the challenges faced by the sector and search for new theories, tools, and frameworks to help MSMEs to tide over these turbulent changes. In such a backdrop, IIM Amritsar announces the 1st International Conference on Management of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises with a theme of Rediscovering Business Practices in the Era of Disruptions to be held on 26-27th September 2020 in Amritsar, Punjab. This conference will provide a platform that will bring together the policymakers, professionals, academicians and researchers to share and discuss the knowledge and research ideas to help MSMEs to take advantage of various emerging trends in business practices.
